Fuller's blog

Every year we learn something on the first day of school.  Today we learned that primary students are not as good as listening for their names and finding their vehicles as middle school students.  And as a result, our car line took much longer than we expected.  First - Our apologies for the amount of time it took this afternoon, we realize your time is valuable, and you have better things to do then sit in line for half an hour to pick up your students.  As a result, we are going to be tweaking our system slightly in hopes of being able to make things move more quickly.  Listed below are the changes we are going to try to make tomorrow and we will re-evaluate tomorrow after car circle to see how they work.

Thank you to everyone who came to the Sneak-A-Peak event this evening. It was great to see so many of you again, and has built our excitment to get started with the school year again!   As promised, embedded below is the video presentation that was playing this evening which covers some very importants points you will want to be aware of:

  • Car Circle
  • Boo Hoo Breakfast
  • Morning Procedures
  • Before and After Care
  • Sign in Process
  • School Hours
  • Tardiness
  • Dress Code
  • PTEG

We want to send out a huge thank you to the over 300 parents and students who came out to help us on August 6 for our annual volunteer day.  The amount of work we were able to complete was astounding! It once again shows how the PPA family is what makes us the best school in the county! We've embeded a slide show for you in this post to see some of the projects people worked on.

While we were able to complete an enormous number of tasks, we still have more to do.  We have decided not to do another large scale volunteer day, but we would like to publish our list of tasks we need help with, so that if you are availabe over the next week or two, you can come in to help.  To view our list of things to do, just click here (http://link.pinellasprep.org/AugVolunteer).  Simply drop us an email or give us a call to let us know when you are available to come in, and we'll mark you down.

Thanks again to the hundreds of great volunteers, and we look forward to a great school year starting very soon!

The school year is quickly approaching, and we need your help to finish getting the school ready for your students!  We are hosting a volunteer day on Saturday, August 6 starting at 8:00am.  We only ask that you please RSVP at http://link.pinellasprep.org/volunteerday so we know how many people to expect.

We will have a lunch available (hot dogs and chips) as a thank you for those of you who come out to help.

When you arrive, you will enter through the front office, where you will find a display board listing the vararity of tasks we need help with, and a description of what needs to be done.  Just find a task that suits you, just sign in, take the task you want to do off the board, and set out to work!  Below is a preliminary list of some of the tasks that we need help with, and it will probably only get longer.

This will be a great chance to meet other PPA families, help the school, get a head start on your volunteering points for the year, and have a little fun in the process.  Thanks in advance to all who can attend!
