Details:

The following is a small project you will need to complete and have ready to present the first Friday we return to school.  You have much flexibility with this project and may present in ANY way you feel will convey the material to the class.  If you have questions, you may email me anytime at cmourer@pinellasprep.org. This project grade will be the first grade in American History class.

 

  1. Pick ONE topic from the list below.
  2. Prepare a brief, interesting presentation on your topic (no more than 5 minutes)-you may use technology (Presentations in Google Apps, Powerpoint, Prezi, etc.) if you like, or any other type of media to present.
  3. Prepare 5 questions on your topic for a test.

 

Topics (Must be between the years of 1700-1900)

  • The 5 most influential white men in America
  • The 5 most influential women in America
  • The 5 most influential blacks in America
  • The 5 most influential documents in America
  • The 5 most influential events in America
  • The 5 most influential Native American Indians in America
  • The 5 most influential members of other minority groups in America

 

You will receive credit by –

  • Completing the project on time with required elements.
  • Project must be clear, concise and interesting.  You will be graded on a rubric.
  • Bonus points will be awarded for presenting people or items from earlier America. For example, 1700s rather than 1800s.
  • Creating 5 test questions-answers should come from your research and your presentation. These should be written out on a separate sheet of paper to be handed in. Please include answers.

 

You will be evaluated by –

The teacher on your presentation, how interesting your questions were & how much you knew about your topic!
