| Description: |
Pinellas Preparatory Academy is a public charter school.
We are based on the principles of providing a creative
education for creative children. We try to reach the multiple
intelligences of children and encourage group work among
students. Please learn more about our approach to education by
reading our page explaining our
pedagogy. Our class
sizes are capped at 22 and our teachers are seen as
professionals who have autonomy within their classrooms to
ensure their students grasp the materials. Our philosophy
is not to teach to a test, but to do the very best job teaching
the subject possible, so that the students can become well
rounded citizens (who consequently, do very well on tests).
This person who is hired for this position will work closely
with our other fifth grade teacher to provide a well rounded
education to the fifth grade students at Pinellas Preparatory
Academy. This person will teach Math and Science
while the other teacher will cover Language Arts and Social
Studies and the students will rotate between the two teachers throughout the day. |
| Qualifications: |
Persons qualified for this position will hold a valid
Florida Teaching Certificate in the area of "Elementary
Education" or "Middle
Grades Integrated Curriculum."
We are looking for an energetic and hands on educator. This
person should be a team player who is willing to take ownership
in and commit themselves to a small school dedicated to providing the best
possible education. Being a small school, flexibility is
essential in a qualified candidate. Classroom experience is a
plus. Preference is also given to candidates who have a degree
in education.
Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
